Jerry also manages the relationships with SLC's carriers, reinsurers and intermediaries. Due to SLC's ability to produce profitable growth, he has developed solid relationships with various insurance carriers and reinsurers. Jerry joined SLC from the Travelers Insurance Company in 1992. Don Wisniewski - Chief Operating Officer/COO, ext 167:
Don's primary responsibilities include overall management of the company from an operational as well as technical standpoint. Don has developed a broad range of skills as a result of holding positions as a Financial Analyst, Claims Manager, Claims Auditor and Employee Benefits Consultant. Don has proven to be an excellent resource in understanding the complex and rapidly changing health insurance marketplace. Prior to joining SLC, Don was with Metropolitan Life for fourteen years. Don is a 1981 graduate of the State University College of New York at Oswego where he received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Public Justice with a concentration in the area of forensic science. Jane McGrath - Chief Financial Officer/CFO, ext 182 is directly responsible for all financial and accounting aspects of the operation. Her responsibilities include development and analysis of financial statements and reports as well as constant monitoring of all accounting functions within the operation. Prior to joining SLC, Jane worked in both the public and private sector of the accounting industry for a total of eight years. Jane is a 1987 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Plattsburgh State University, where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant. jamcgrath@stoplossconcepts.com Colette Smolinski - Underwriting Manager, ext 169 is primarily responsible for the oversight of all underwriters, ensuring quality service and profitability. She is also responsible for ensuring the continual maintenance of the SLC informational database. Colette has had extensive experience in the healthcare field, including HMO and self-funded plans, and is quite proficient in analyzing claims and utilization data for all types of health insurance coverage. Prior to joining SLC, Colette was with Healthsource and Blue Cross/Blue Shield for a combined seven years. She has completed numerous continuing education courses and possesses a comprehensive understanding of multiple software packages. csmolinski@stoplossconcepts.com Sue Recchie - Claims Manager, ext 127 is primarily responsible for the oversight of all claims reimbursement and reporting activity for our various carriers and reinsurers. Sue has over 20 years of extensive and diversified experience in the insurance industry, particularly in the areas of self-funding and employee benefits. Sue's ability to facilitate each account from policy issuance to claims processing is an integral part of providing our clients with the highest level of quality service. srecchie@stoplossconcepts.com Bill Lutz - Director of Marketing, ext 183: Bill's main focus for Stop Loss Concepts, Inc. is on marketing and producer development. Bill works with all types of producers including TPAs, Agents, Brokers, Service Corporations (i.e., BC/BS), Consultants and the ASO division of various HMOs. With Bill's extensive background in the agency and brokerage side of the health insurance industry, his knowledge of the complexities of what it takes to service our clients is invaluable. Carol has over ten years of customer service experience in the insurance industry and is a dedicated team player. Prior to joining SLC, Carol worked for MetraHealth/United Healthcare for a combined twelve years. He is also responsible for the continual maintenance of the SLC informational database. John joins SLC after 10 years with Cigna Healthcare as a Client Service Specialist, where he was responsible for providing complete service for local divisions of large national Cigna accounts. While with Cigna, John completed his CEBS designation, which has greatly expanded John's insights and knowledge of the health insurance industry. jnovak@stoplossconcepts.com Matt Kormanec -- Marketing Assistant, ext 161. Matt's primary responsibililty is to ensure the timely processing of RFP's submitted to Stop Loss Concepts. He handles all the preparation of the RFP's until they are assigned to an underwriter for quoting. In addition, he is also responsible for tracking the results of our underwriting efforts by working with our producers through the selling process to assist in the stop loss placement and to better measure our effectiveness. Prior to joining Stop Loss Concepts, Matt served five years in the U.S. Army where he specialized as an air traffic controller. Matt's company was recognized as the Air Traffic Control Company of the year in 2004 for their outstanding performances in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. In addition, Lynda interfaces with the various program administrators and provides valuable support to the underwriting staff relative to catastrophic loss situations. In addition, Brenda works with various program administrators to ensure the highest level of service. Brenda has over 10 years experience as a claims examiner, with 5 of those being served as a senior examiner. Joanne is directly responsible for the timely input, organization and handling of claims for the auditing staff. Joanne also is responsible for claim record keeping, loss ratio reports and 50% reporting. Joe Kappil - Contract Specialist, ext 180 is directly responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all policy issuance duties associated with SLC. He is also responsible for the issuance of binding material as well as other internal support functions. Joe has over twenty years of teaching and working experience, and is a 1979 graduate of State University of Kerala with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting.
