Our mission is to be a leading provider of Medical Stop Loss, not only in volume, but most importantly, in service. To build off of the foundation established by our past efforts and to continue to be a company that all of our employee owners are proud of, one that reflects their beliefs in the services we provide.
An Overview
As mentioned, SLC is a Managing General Underwriter (MGU) for Excess Medical coverage, also known as "Stop Loss Insurance", for self-funded employee benefit plans. SLC has agreements with several carriers giving authority to write business "on their paper". This means SLC determines risk, issues policies, collects premium, and processes the payment of claims on behalf of these companies. Our corporate office is located in Syracuse, New York with a regional marketing office in Leawood, Kansas.
